Franco Bernabè, president of Telecom Italia Group, which controls TIM Brazil, officially announced the adhesion of the Italian group to the Science without Frontiers program (CsF) in Brasilia on Monday (12). The initiative provides scholarships for students and researchers who wish to undertake specialized courses linked to innovation in universities and centers of excellence overseas. The group will integrate the infrastructure in their research and innovation centers in Rome, Turin, Trento and Venice with the project.

The company took the opportunity to announce the offer of 400 weeks of internship, of which 160 will be fully funded with scholarships from TIM Brazil. The vacancies will be distributed over the four year program. The opportunities are geared primarily to students of Engineering, Computing and Information Technology and other IT and communications technologies. 

Telecom Italia’s initiative was presented to the Minister of Education, Aloizio Mercadante, and the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Marco Antônio Raupp, as a way of supporting and recognizing the government’s efforts to invest in intellectual and technical training for young people. The company, in committing to the project, demonstrates that it values the synergies between Brazil and Italy, marking the Group as an international benchmark in knowledge sharing.

CAPES and CNPq signed a memorandum of understanding with Esponenti Gruppo Italiani (GEI) and associate companies on Monday, March 12, at the Italian embassy. The cooperation was formalized under the Science without Frontiers (CsF) program, with the aim of promoting participation by Italian companies with a presence in Brazil and encouraging the internationalization of science, technology and innovation through the exchange and international mobility of students and researchers, and through cooperation between Brazilian and Italian teaching and research institutions.
